Frank A. Zakrajsek, 73, Batesville, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital.
Born April 6, 1936, in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Anna Marie (Strukel) Zakrajsek. He married Jane (Kotlarck) Zakrajsek there May 24, 1958.
The 30-year Procter & Gamble Co. industrial engineer retired in 1997. His faith was very important to the Holy Family Catholic Church, Oldenburg, member, and he loved being around people. Staying busy and doing the job right were qualities the dedicated worker expected of himself and others. The extremely resourceful man could analyze the situation, design a solution and build to design. He enjoyed watching “Fox News” and the “O’Reilly Factor.” His one indulgence was a passion for Xavier University basketball, where he was a season ticket holder.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter: Lynn Kennedy, Gainesville, Ga.; two sons: Scott Zakrajsek, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Joe Zakrajsek, Saline, Mich.; two brothers: Jerome Zakrajsek, Fredonia, Wis., and Frederick Zak, Oconomowoc, Wis.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9-10 a.m. followed by the funeral officiated by the Revs. Rock Travnikar, OFM, and David Kobak, OFM, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Franciscan Friars Retirement Fund. Weigel Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
