A pursuit originating in Hamilton County, Ohio, crossed into Indiana on U.S. 50 Jan. 3 at approximately 11:20 p.m., reported Indiana State Police public information officer Sgt. Noel Houze Jr.

The initial violation leading to the pursuit, which was initiated by the Cleves, Ohio, Police Department, is unknown at this time.

ISP troopers, Dearborn County sheriff’s deputies and Lawrenceburg and Greendale police entered the chase at the state line. A 1994 Chevrolet Blazer led officers westbound past Argosy Casino into Lawrenceburg, where Stop Sticks were deployed on U.S. 50 at Old State Road 48.

The suspect’s vehicle struck the Stop Sticks and continued until just east of Wolf Road, where she lost control of her vehicle due to the tire deflation caused by Stop Sticks and ran off the north side of the roadway into the ditch.

Officers took Vickie Grubbs, 36, North Bend, Ohio, into custody without incident, Houze said.

She complained of some chest pain as a result of the crash and was transported to Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, where she was treated and released.

Grubbs is being held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center facing charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and possession of cocaine (less than 3 grams), Class D felonies; and criminal recklessness with a vehicle and driving while intoxicated, Class A misdemeanors.

The investigation is continuing in Indiana by the agencies involved, the public information officer said.
