Emily Ann Laker and Eric William Volz were united in marriage June 29, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church by Father Bill Farris, O.F.M.
The bride is the daughter of Dale and Ann Laker, Batesville. The 2004 Batesville High School and 2008 Indiana State University graduate received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.
The groom is the son of Terry and Paula Volz, Sunman. He graduated in 2003 from Batesville High School, 2007 from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and in 2011 received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He is a practicing intellectual property attorney with the firm Wood, Herron & Evans, Cincinnati.
The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Janice Schneider, Greensburg. Bridesmaids included Sarah Schwier and Heather Stembridge, Indianapolis, Kim Rahe and Amanda Harmeyer, Batesville, and Erin O’Conner, San Antonio, Texas, friends of the couple; and Nancy Narwold, Batesville, cousin of the bride.
The junior bridesmaid was Page Fasbinder, Jacksonville, Fla., cousin and godchild of the groom.
Best men were Adam Fischmer, Indianapolis, and Matt Mayer, San Diego. Groomsmen were Justin Beckner, Batesville, and Chris Quick, Pittsburgh, friends of the couple; Justin Prickel, Wakarusa, cousin of the groom; Dan Fasbinder, Jacksonville, Fla., uncle of the groom; and Eric Laker, Batesville, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Aaron Borgman, Panama City Beach, Fla., cousin of the groom, and Josh Diehl, Chicago, friend of the couple.
The ring bearer was Ben Schneider, Greensburg, nephew and godchild of the bride.
A reception was held at the Batesville Knights of Columbus Hall. After a honeymoon in New York City and Nantucket, Mass., the couple is residing in Cincinnati.
