Prell-Bland Unit revises constitution

Members of Prell-Bland American Legion Unit 271 met Monday, Jan. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post with President Marilyn Gausman presiding.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Secretary Sally Wilhelm and approved as read. Treasurer Wilhelm gave that report which was filed for audit.

Thank yous were read from the food pantry, Elizabeth Bachus and Indiana Veteran’s Home. Membership to date totals 181. The auxiliary did not man the kitchen for the Jan. 5 shoot. The next shoot is Feb. 2. The district meeting was Saturday, Jan. 18, at St. Leon.

All officers received a copy of the revised unit constitution, bylaws and standing rules. Members present voted to accept the revisions as printed. A copy will be sent to the district chairman to put in her book. Members also voted to not meet in February, due to very little business.

The meeting was then adjourned and chicken noodle soup and apple pie were served.
