ISP detectives recognized

---- — Two Indiana State Police detectives were recently recognized for career milestones, according to Sgt. Noel Houze, Versailles District public information officer.

Detective Kip Main was recognized for 20 years of service with the ISP. He was a member of the 50th ISP Recruit Academy, graduating in December 1993. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the Connersville District where he worked until 1995 when he transferred to Versailles. In 1997, he transferred back to Connersville then returned to Versailles in 1999.

The Dearborn County native and 1989 Lawrenceburg High School graduate attended Marshall University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, graduating in 1993. During his career, Main has served as a gaming enforcement detective at Belterra Casino, field training officer, defensive tactics instructor, firearms instructor, and a member of the Underwater Search and Recovery Team and Tactical Intervention Platoon.

He resides in Ripley County with his wife, Cara, and their four children ranging in age from 11-16.

Detective Roger Drew was presented with his 800,000 mile safe driving award. He began his career with the ISP as a member of the 47th ISP Recruit Academy, graduating in November 1989. He was assigned to the Seymour District where he worked Jackson and Jennings counties. In October 2005, he was promoted to detective and still serves in that capacity. The Dearborn County native was a 1985 South Dearborn High School, Aurora, graduate. After high school, he spent four years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps before entering the ISP recruit academy.

During his career, Drew has served as a field training officer, defensive tactics instructor, speed timing device instructor, technical crash investigator and a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon.

He and his wife, Angie, reside in Seymour and have two grown daughters and four grandchildren.
