Variety of pets available at shelter

About 75 dogs and 25 cats are waiting at the Ripley County Humane Society Shelter for permanent homes, reports board member Irish Stockard.

The shelter’s Pet of the Month is a one-and-a-half-year-old Australian shepherd mix “with a beautiful brindle coat ... What a neat dog Trigger is!” The male “loves to be around people, and if you like to play catch, he’s your man!” According to the volunteer, “Trigger is easy to walk and he’s so smart that he would qualify for agility training in a snap.” The price to adopt the fully vetted and microchipped dog is $100.

Videos of Trigger and other dogs can be viewed on YouTube by searching for rchumane. Photos of all pets waiting to be adopted can be seen at Southern Indiana Save-A-Pet (www.sisaveapet.com) and Petfinder (www.petfinder.com).

The shelter is open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. It is located three miles south of Osgood just west of U.S. 421 at the address below.

Donations to the nonprofit are always appreciated.

Tax-deductible checks may be sent to Ripley County Humane Society, 1202 W. County Road 150 N., Osgood, IN 47037. Info: 812-689-3773 or www.rchumane.org.
