Library has a crowded calendar

---- — A variety of events for children and adults have been scheduled at Tyson Library, 325 W. Tyson St., Versailles.

“Put on your capes for our K-6 Super Hero Party Saturday, Nov. 23, from noon-1 p.m.,” suggests program coordinator Amy Welch. Attendees will dress up as their favorite super heroes as they give thanks to the unsung super heroes (like Mom and Dad) this Thanksgiving season.

Any child who has participated in the Toddler/Preschool Independent Reading Program may come to the Cookie Party Dec. 7.

A Winter Carnival with fun games and crafts for toddlers up to sixth-graders takes place Thursday, Dec. 12, from 6-8 p.m. Welch says, “Get a chance to spread the holiday cheer by making a gift for someone special at Silver Memories Nursing Home. A jolly visitor will be joining us with presents.”

Elementary students are invited to meet Thursday evenings to work on homework or projects. A limited supply of project materials will be provided at little or no cost. The staff cannot guarantee they can answer all questions, but they will try.

Every month popcorn and drinks are served when a newly-released-to-DVD movie is shown on the on the lower level’s big screen. The next one is “Hunger Games,” rated PG-13, Saturday, Nov. 30, from 11:30 a.m.-2:10 p.m.

For adults, a Work One representative will be available to walk-ins Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m.-noon. Persons can find answers to job search questions as well as other programs Work One offers.

Yoga is scheduled each Tuesday from 5-6:15 p.m. The library also has a variety of 90-minute computer classes available for a modest fee.
