---- — Someone has stolen 23 pink flamingos being used by Girl Scout Troop 81148 as a fundraiser, reports leader Jennifer Pate. The plastic birds, valued at $125, were removed from 151 EGS Boulevard at Lake in the Woods subdivision the night of June 3.
“We still have about eight weeks of ‘flocking’ to do, so I’m going to have to purchase more birds in order to fulfill the orders and to keep with our fundraising,” she said.
“I’m sure it wasn’t malicious in intent.”
The flamingos may be returned anonymously to any of these Batesville locations: 1235 Lammers Pike, 151 EGS Boulevard, 510 Herman St., the food pantry or fire department. Pate said charges won’t be pressed if they and the sign are returned.
