One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident May 28, reports Batesville Police Chief Stan Holt.
About 12:20 p.m., police received a 911 call from a witness stating a vehicle left the road and flipped on its side at County Road 1350 North and Coonhunters Road. The driver, Dawn Spurlock, Batesville, was traveling southbound on Coonhunters Road when she lost control of her Chevrolet Suburban.
The vehicle left the road and traveled into a ditch, where the driver then overcorrected and went left of center, striking a utility pole. It came to rest on its driver’s side against a tree. Spurlock was not seriously injured, but was transported to Margaret Mary Health by Batesville EMS 10 to be checked out.
Investigators believe the driver overcorrecting caused the crash. The road was shut down for a short time due to live electrical wires on the ground.
Officer Jamie Straber was the investigating officer and was also assisted by the Batesville Fire and Rescue Department.
