---- — “An armed robbery of the K&K Mart, Sunman, has resulted in the arrest and criminal charges against Michael Raisley, Osgood,” said Ric Hertel, Ripley County prosecuting attorney.
At about 6 a.m. April 22, an armed male entered the store, demanding money from an employee. In excess of $300 was taken from the cash register. The Ripley County Sheriff’s Department was first on the scene and led the investigation for the following two days.
Deputy Jason Dickerson signed a probable cause affidavit April 24 that led to the issuance of an arrest warrant from Ripley Circuit Court for Raisley. On that same day, the suspect was taken into custody and formally charged with armed robbery, a Class B felony, which, if found guilty, carries a sentencing range of 6-20 years, according to Hertel.
Raisley is in the Ripley County Jail, Versailles, awaiting his initial hearing.
Sheriff Rodney Stratton and Hertel commented that the deputy’s efforts, interviews of witnesses and collection of evidence led to Raisley’s quick apprehension. The prosecutor reminded he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
