Dance concert has summer theme

The Dance Studio spring concert, under the direction of Lydia Woodward, is Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at the Batesville High School Auditorium. The concert is free, and everyone is invited.

The concert, entitled “Summer’s Almost Here!,” includes a variety of dances: six ballet, two modern, three musical theater, two tap and two hip hop. Additionally, eight solos will be presented. Choreography is by Woodward and faculty member Brittany Hall.

The director explains, “All the songs have ‘summer’ in the title, and it will get everyone in the mood for warmer weather! We hope you’ll join us.”

Students from Batesville, Oldenburg, Sunman, Greensburg, Brookville, St. Leon, Butlerville, West Harrison, Milroy and Osgood range in age from 4-15.

They include Emerson Belew, Allison Bohman, Breana Bohman, Chloe Bohman, Madelyn Bohman, Sophia Cassis, Madelyn Comparone, Alys Deardorff, Isabella Dole, Lucy Dole, Mary-Frances Dole, Ella Flannery, Mason Flannery, Maggie Geis, Nate Geis, Izabelle Gibson, Toria Gobel, Leah Goodin, Ashley Gowdy, Annabelle John, Johanna Libbey, Bella Louis, Gena Mack, Sammy Jo Mathews, Weslee Metcalf, Elizabeth Miller, Anna Moeller, Eliza Monroe, Abigail Obermeyer, Ava Obermeyer, Lila Obermeyer, Jaden Peters, Paris Raab, Katelyn Rahe, Kennedy Rasnick, Madison Richter-Nighbert, Sarah Ripperger, Madison Rohls, Kaycee Rowland, Chloe Shaw, Arianna Sia, Anna Sing, Shanna Smith, Sara Swinney, Maggie Tekulve, Claire Walke, Chelsie Walsman, Bella Weberding, Sophie Wesseler, Josie West, Ana White, Kira Jo White, Cortney Widener, Chloe Williams, Lauren Voss, Josephine Wolfe and Lilly Wolfe.

The Dance Studio, located in downtown Batesville, has been offering classes since 2005, and Woodward has been teaching here since 1994. For more information, she can be contacted at 812-932-2046.
