The right way to get rid of electronics

Due to a recent state law, Rumpke, Batesville’s trash hauler, cannot pick up electronics from residences and businesses during regular trash collection.

Electronics can be dropped off at no charge at a dumpster located at the Batesville Wastewater Treatment Plant, 25019 Underpass Road. Items include laptop and desktop computers and accessories, televisions, microwaves, printers, scanners, copiers, fax and answering machines, stereos, cell phones, PDAs, handheld computer games and cameras.

After stopping in at the office there, city residents can dispose of their items weekdays from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Info: mayor’s office, 933-6100.
