---- — Fohl graduates basic training

Army National Guard Pvt. Justin P. Fohl has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Fohl is the son of Lisa Miranda and brother of Amanda Moore, both of Brookville. He is also the brother of David Fohl, Cedar Grove.

He is a 2013 graduate of Franklin County High School, Brookville.

Horton completes training

Army Pvt. Justin D. Horton graduated from basic combat training Oct. 5 and advanced individual training Nov. 17 at Fort Sill, Okla.

He is the son of Tammy Horton, Sunman; brother of Austin Horton, Sunman, and Joshua Horton, Aurora; grandson of Jeff and Sheryll Henson, Sunman; great-grandson of Denver Maggard, Whitesburg, Ky.; and nephew of Bill Maggard, Greensburg, and De-Nell Jenkins, Aurora.

The 2013 East Central High School graduate joined the Army July 22.
