Following the awards presentation, the mayor introduced the incoming officers: Sue Siefert, president; Bill Flannery, vice president; Carolyn Dieckmann, treasurer; Ken Baran, secretary; and Tim Dietz, membership chairperson. Siefert then addressed the crowd and noted how important active members are to the future of the organization and provided an overview of the many volunteer opportunities available.
Many of those attending completed their member commitment sheets, noting their interest in volunteering, and all were excited to witness the interest shown in keeping the museum as a vibrant asset for Batesville residents and the city’s many visitors.
Siefert added, “While no one can replace Jean Struewing, I pledge to you my dedication to continue the success Jean has initiated, and the officers and I welcome everyone’s input and support.”
