Franklin County burglary solved

— Franklin County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the report of a burglary at a Holland Road residence near the intersection of U.S. 52 in Brookville Township Feb. 4 at about 2:55 p.m., said Deputy Mark Fritz, the investigating officer.

“Through the investigation of the burglary, it was discovered that the suspects were in the Norwood, Ohio, area. Detectives from the Norwood Police Department were able to locate a Chrysler van in the city of Norwood that contained one adult male and two adult female occupants,” Fritz said.

Several items stolen in the Holland Road burglary were found in the van.  All three subjects were arrested on various charges.

FCSD deputies, along with Indiana State Police crime scene technician Steve Weigel, went to Norwood to process the van and interview the trio. Several items of evidence recovered while processing the house and vehicle were submitted to the ISP Crime Lab for analysis.

Arrest warrants were issued through Franklin County Circuit Court for burglary, a Class B felony, for a married couple, Lydia Ramirez, 31, and Marvin Ramirez, 23, Cincinnati.

Both are currently incarcerated in the Hamilton County Justice Center, awaiting extradition to Franklin County.

Any involvement into the Franklin County burglary by the third individual arrested continues to be investigated. Currently, “she is only facing charges in Ohio,” explained FCSD Sgt. Jason Lovins.

The investigation is ongoing and more suspects could be charged, according to Fritz.

If convicted, the couple could receive up to 20 years in prison and receive fines of up to $10,000.
