A call initiated by a concerned citizen resulted in a Batesville man facing multiple deer-related charges, reports conservation officer Gary Catron, Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement District 9.
Conservation officers completed an investigation which began Nov. 14. Charges are pending on David Grieshop, 45, Batesville, who is alleged to be complicit in the illegal possession of at least eight antlered deer. Each offense is a Class B misdemeanor.
In addition, the investigation yielded information that could lead to him also facing a Class A misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Eighteen separate violations are attributed to Grieshop and a minor found to have been actively involved in illegal hunting activities.
The case is being presented to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
