Area child care classes offered

— Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corp., Aurora, offers two area child care classes this month. “Emerging Literacy Curriculum Building” will be held Saturday, May 11, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in Batesville.

Participants will discuss how meaningful and purposeful experiences play a central role in children’s early language and literacy and how they can create and support these experiences. They will explore ways to observe, assess and plan developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum by using the LEARN approach.

“Watch me Grow, Help me Learn” is slated for Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in Brookville.

Participants will learn the basics of child growth and development as well as developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers
