“Great Gardening” is the topic May 4 at the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site, two blocks south of U.S. 52 at 19083 Clayborn St., Metamora.
Between 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., participants will tour the site’s garden after learning from gardening guru Carol Mundy about heritage food and herbs. They will also enjoy box lunches and door prizes.
Cost: $15 per adult, $12.50 per child.
Canal boat rides there began May 1. Rides are available Wednesday through Sundays on the hour from noon-4 p.m. They cost $5 for adults, $4 for seniors 60+, $2 for children 3–12 and $1 for students.
