A semi crash on Interstate 74 Sept. 27 resulted in minor injuries to the driver and closed the road for about an hour, according to Indiana State Police Trooper Joe Uhler.
About 4:40 p.m., a 2005 Kenworth semi tractor-trailer driven by Harold L. Downey, 69, Middletown, Ohio, was eastbound on I-74 near the 153 mile marker when for unknown reasons he lost control of the vehicle. It went into the median and struck the barrier cable but crossed into the westbound lanes, completely blocking those lanes.
Downey suffered minor facial injuries and was transported to Margaret Mary Health.
Westbound I-74 was closed for over an hour while emergency crews and wreckers removed the semi. Eastbound I-74 was limited to one lane and closed for short periods of time as well.
Other troopers, ISP motor carrier inspectors, Batesville Police officers and Ripley County sheriff's deputies also assisted at the scene.
