Dinner aids cancer patients

The Herald-Tribune

-- — The third annual Cancer Benefit Dinner and Dance of Batesville, organized by leukemia survivor Ken Konradi, is slated for Friday, Oct. 26, from 5:30-11 p.m. at the Batesville Knights of Columbus Hall.

Proceeds go to the Hansen Center and Hansen-affiliated St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis.

He says, “The money raised doesn’t go toward patient bills. Instead, it goes toward gas, lodging and other associated expenses for patients who can’t otherwise afford it. People come from quite a long distance in many cases to be treated at these facilities.” Last year $3,800 was raised.

The $17 admission includes a roast beef or turkey dinner, dancing to music from the 1940s to 1960s provided by DJ Kevin Green, ballroom dancing demonstration and 20-minute joke session. The evening is sponsored by 31 businesses. Reservations suggested: 934-6600.
