Relay for Life nominations due May 15

BATESVILLE — Nominations for the 2013 Ripley County Relay for Life Compassion Award, Courage Award and Mary Margaret Moorhead Volunteer Award are being accepted.

To be eligible for the Compassion Award, a nominee must be or have been a caregiver for someone during his or her cancer treatment and recovery. The caregiver may have gone above and beyond, providing the basic care required and made a significant impact on the cancer patient’s recovery process.

Courage Award nominees must be cancer survivors who have made significant impacts on the lives of others and contributed to cancer control efforts in the community.

For the Mary Margaret Moorhead Volunteer Award, nominees must be avid supporters of the American Cancer Society and must have demonstrated how they “Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back” against cancer.

Persons wanting to nominate individuals should submit brief explanations stating why the nominees should receive the award. Please include photographs of the nominees so they can be used during the presentations.
