BATESVILLE — Thomas Crawford, 17, Dillsboro, the driver of a truck involved in the March 7 accident that killed three South Ripley students and injured him along with two others, has been charged with the alleged delinquent acts of reckless homicide, a Class C felony; and reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor, according to Ripley County prosecutor Ric Hertel.

The prosecutor filed a formal delinquency petition in Ripley Circuit Court April 22. He revealed that type of document is filed in juvenile court, and “it’s the same as a criminal charge in adult court.”

An initial hearing is set for June 6, at 2 p.m.
