Dogs neededfor show

The St. Andrews Health Campus Dog Show is July 12 at 3:15 p.m. Kristin Rowland, director of resident programming, reports, “We are looking for anyone in the community who would like bring their dog out and show our residents.” To RSVP by July 11: 934-5090.

Jazz music in Brookville

Emily and Jacob Edwards will perform a show of “quality bluegrass-jazz sounds and incredible singing” at The Upper Room, 124-B E. 6th St., Brookville, Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m. thanks to a Stayin’ Alive grant, reports a Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce e-mail.

The Upper Room provides a free concert to the public on the second Saturday of each month.

Harrison marks Civil War

The city of Harrison, Ohio, will focus on the Civil War this month. A miniature village of that era consisting of several houses, a schoolhouse, church, barn and other buildings constructed by Franklin County resident Dave Klei is on display at Edgewood Designs, 231 Harrison Ave., July 9-20. Hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

A Civil War re-enactment called “Morgan’s Men Raid Harrison: Skirmish” will play out Saturday, July 13, beginning at 1 p.m. at the 100-300 blocks of Harrison Avenue. Other entertainment begins at 10 a.m., including a Civil War encampment at Village Park in downtown Harrison.

A breakfast and lunch nutrition assistance program for Indiana residents 60 and over is available at the Big Four Café in RomWeber Flats, 121 S. Depot St., Batesville.

Up to 10 discount vouchers per month will be made available to interested individuals on a first-come-first-served basis. They can be obtained from the RomWeber Flats leasing office weekdays from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. There is no set cost for the meal vouchers, but a minimum donation of $4 per meal is suggested.
