---- — In Team Batesville’s fourth year, “we are excited to announce many changes and new opportunities,” says Andy Allen, one of several organizers. “We look forward to reuniting with our returning members and welcome all new members. We are looking to increase our numbers from years past along with incorporating more students into our running events.”
The community fitness initiative is sponsored by Batesville Community School Corp., Margaret Mary Health and Southeastern Indiana YMCA.
Registration is now ongoing for the 2014 Team Batesville challenges in both the OneAmerica Indianapolis Mini-Marathon and Cincinnati Flying Pig events. The free Team Batesville membership provides weekly newsletters, training advice, group training opportunities and local packet pickup for both events.
The OneAmerica Indianapolis Mini-Marathon Saturday, May 3, covers 13.1 miles through Indianapolis and Speedway and includes one lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Interested participants may register online at www.500festival.com/ Indy Mini Registration.
An alternative to enter the Mini is for interested persons to obtain Team Batesville registration forms at http://bcsc.batesvilleinschools.com/. A completed form and $60 check made out to Batesville Community Education Foundation should be returned to Andy Allen, Batesville High School, 1 Bulldog Blvd., Batesville, IN 47006. A price increase will occur after Nov. 30.
The Cincinnati Flying Pig powered by P&G Saturday-Sunday, May 3-4, encompasses many individual and team events over various distances. Interested participants must register online at /www.flyingpigmarathon.com/Cincinnati Flying Pig. Those competing in the Flying Pig who wish to be a part of Team Batesville need to complete the first page of the 2013 Team Batesville registration form and return it to BHS or electronically at email@example.com
