Newspaper delivery changes to begin Aug. 2

The Batesville Herald-Tribune

---- —

The staff at The Herald-Tribune strives to find ways to improve and better serve their customers. Those efforts have led to upcoming change in newspaper delivery.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 2, The Herald-Tribune will be delivered via the U.S. Postal Service.

Laura Welborn, publisher of The Herald-Tribune,Greensburg Daily News and Rushville Republican, said the move makes good business sense.

“Over the past several years, many newspapers have been challenged with the rising cost of delivering the newspaper and maintaining a carrier force," Welborn commented.  “While this was a hard decision to make, it makes good business sense and enables each newspaper to hold subscription rates.

"We would like to thank all of our carriers for their years of dedicated service,” she added.

Delivery schedules for the newspaper will not change. For those of you currently receiving same-day delivery of the newspaper, mail delivery of your newspaper is still scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays.

The conversion to mail routes is set to begin Aug. 2, but some routes may be converted throughout the month as carrier routes open, according to Welborn.

In addition to mail delivery for subscribers, copies of the newspaper can be purchased at a variety of single copy outlets in Batesville and surrounding communities.
