The Weather Channel's Website reports Winter Storm Nika has dumped varying amounts of snow in Indiana.
It noted, "Travel on Interstate 74 in southeastern Indiana has been tangled by a jackknifed semi (approaching the State Road 1 interchange) and slick conditions that left drivers unable to make it up a hill. The eastbound and westbound lanes were closed for a time Wednesday morning in the stretch between Batesville and the Indiana-Ohio state line because of the semi wreck," said state police Sgt. Noel Houze.
This area didn't get as much of the white stuff as other Hoosiers: 9.9 inches in Marshall, up to 8.5 inches in Indianapolis and 6.5 inches in Kokomo, according to the site. With a quarter inch of ice in Evansville, power outages were reported
"More than 106 million Americans remain under some form of winter weather alert. The weather is already blamed for six traffic deaths in five states," said www.weather.com.
