Members of Prell-Bland American Legion Unit 271 met at the Sherman House Monday, June 10, at 6 p.m.
Following a delicious dinner, the meeting opened with Vice President Eileen Stirn presiding. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Secretary Sally Wilhelm and approved as read. Treasurer Wilhelm gave that report which was filed for audit.
Wilhelm reported that by the end of the week all membership letters would be in the mail.
The group is hoping for another successful July 4 dinner.
The secretary reported on the Ninth District meeting held at the Seymour Post June 8. She will be installed as the district treasurer later.
Wilhelm installed the unit’s newly-elected officers: President Marilyn Gausman, First Vice President Eileen Stirn, chaplain Sally Widener, historian Kathy Conrad, parliamentarian Patty Weberding and sergeants-at-arms Pat Hoegeman and Bertha Hazelwood.
