4-H enrollment forms due March 1

BATESVILLE — February is 4-H Month, reports Angie Riffle, Franklin County extension educator.

Throughout the month, members, volunteers and extension office staff will be visiting all Franklin County elementary schools to promote 4-H to the youth in the community. The organization is open to all youth in grades 3-12, and Mini 4-H is for those in grades 1-2.

4-H teaches important life skills through hands-on learning and participation in various projects, events and activities. Projects range from aerospace to livestock to scrapbooking and woodworking.

“We will be hosting a 4-H Enrollment Night Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Franklin County Government Center Room 102,” Riffle notes.

Youngsters can sign up online at Forms are also available through the extension office, schools, libraries or local club leaders. They are due by Friday, March 1.
