---- — The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will not perform at next June’s Batesville Music and Arts Festival due to budget constraints, the Mayor’s Committee for the Performing Arts decided after meeting twice this fall.

Committee members are exploring other options for a headlining group.

The three-evening fest, tentatively slated for June 18-20, will continue to offer the Rural Alliance for the Arts Community Art Show reception and street dance, and the Texaco Country Showdown presented by Batesville radio station WRBI and Jim True Ford, Brookville.

Persons, organizations and businesses that would like to offer financial contributions may mail checks made payable to the Mayor’s Committee for the Performing Arts to Fifth Third Bank, c/o co-chair Jim Sturges, P.O. Box 30, Batesville, IN 47006.

Questions may be sent to co-chair George Brinkmoeller, 55 Crosstie Lane, Batesville IN 47006.

In addition to the co-chairs, committee members include Bob Fitzpatrick, Ron Green, Joan Kuhlman, Lori Feldbauer, John Irrgang, Sarah Lamping, Andrea Wade and Debbie Blank.
