'Christmas Belles' funny
Area residents can ring in the holidays with Tree County Players' production of “Christmas Belles,” a comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten that is directed by Bill Blank, Batesville.
This very funny show features an ensemble cast including Mary Rogers, Heather Stone, Jim Powell, Ross and Brittany Brewer, Batesville; Rhonda Watts, Sunman; and C.J. Adams, Michal Pennington, Donna Swinford, Jim and Mimi Pruett, Greensburg.
“Christmas Belles” is about Christmastime in the small town of Fayro, Texas, and the Futrelle sisters are not exactly in a festive mood. A cranky Frankie is weeks overdue with her second set of twins. Twink, recently jilted and bitter about it, is in jail for inadvertently burning down half the town. And hot-flash-suffering Honey Raye is desperately trying to keep the Tabernacle of the Lamb's holiday program from spiraling into chaos. The play also involves a sick Santa, vengeful sheep and reluctant Elvis impersonator. The feuding sisters pull together to present a Christmas program the citizens of Fayro will never forget.
