Boy dies in farm crash
A 5-year-old died Oct. 22 as a result of a West Harrison farm accident, according to a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Thomas Frondorf, 65, told Chief Deputy John Roberts, the investigating officer, he got into a 1989 Ford F150 pickup at about 8:32 a.m., telling his son, Todd Frondorf, he was going to pull forward about 4 feet in a barn lot. “Thomas was unable to see his grandson ... riding his bicycle in front of the truck,” Roberts said.
The pickup struck the bike, causing Will Frondorf, West Harrison, to go under the truck’s front.
Todd Frondorf yelled for his father to stop the vehicle, then removed his son from underneath it and started first aid.
Brookville EMS 2 personnel arrived and called University Air Care. Will Frondorf was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he died.
Also responding to the scene were Sheriff Dale Maxie, Lt. Don Smith, Deputy Don Speckman, Rescue 24 and Drewersburg firefighters.
