Soup Festival
The New Point Kiwanis Club Whistleberry Soup Festival Saturday, Oct. 17, from 4-7 p.m. at the New Point Community Center features all-you-can-eat bean soup, cornbread, drink and dessert. Freewill offerings benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
Pork Chop Supper
Hamburg Knights of St. John will host a pork chop supper at their hall Saturday, Oct. 17, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Cost: $8.
Poker Walk
The Batesville Jaycees annual poker walk is Saturday, Oct. 17. Registration with $5 donations is from 6-7 p.m. at Hooligan’s at Batesville Shopping Village, then the three-hour walk to six other local bars begins and ends there.
After Hours
Concert Series
The Ball State University Saxophone Quartet will play an international program of music Saturday, Oct. 17, from 7-9 p.m. during a free Batesville Memorial Public Library After Hours Concert Series show.
Haunted Halloween Cruise
The Metamora Haunted Halloween Cruise is Saturdays, Oct. 17 and 24, with rides at 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m. Storytellers tell spooky stories appropriate for all ages. Cost: $4. Info: 765-647-6512.
