The 10th Rural Alliance for the Arts Community Art Show “had a very diverse selection this year,” reports organizer Lori Feldbauer. “The artwork was remarkable. We had 21 entries (with) ... many first-time participants.”

The artwork will be on display at the Batesville Memorial Public Library until June 25. Then pieces will be moved to area merchants for display until the week of July 11.

Winners in the applied arts category are first place, Nance Widdowson, Batesville, “Flowers,” quilt, In Bloom; second place, Judy Tonges, Batesville, “Awakening,” quilt, Twice Blessed Resale Shop; third place, Scott Rahschulte, Lawrence-burg, “Earthquake,” wood segmented bowl, Edward Jones.

Two tied for first place in the fine arts category: Robert Maple, Batesville, “Tulip Girl,” limestone carving, National City Bank; and Linda Richardson, Harrison, Ohio, “Tanks & Torches ,” watercolor, Fifth Third Bank. The third-place winner is Rebecca Davies, Dillsboro, “Twisted,” acrylic, Geis Appliances.

Fine arts honorable mentions were awarded to Lauren Fields, Batesville, “Italy in May,” serigraphy/silkscreen, Fullenkamp Sporting Goods; Katie Giesting, Batesville, “Summer Essentials,” pastel, Giesting Financial; and Brittany Mitchell, Batesville, “Grace,” photograph, Langen Meats.

Other fine arts participants are Lucille Collins, Greensburg, watercolor, Geis Electronics; Annette Geil, Sunman, “The Rush of the World,” mixed media, Concepts; Andrea Gillman, Batesville, “Breckenridge,” photograph, Giesting Financial; Teri Glaser, Batesville, “Beach Baby!,” watercolor, Kellerman Law Office; Sarah Howell, Batesville, “Turn Table, charcoal drawing, Snikkers & Peanuts.

Also, Terry Huber, Morris, “Phantasmagor-ia,” acrylic, Ollier Masonry; Claire Macyauski, Batesville, “Italy Experience,” mixed medium, Batesville library; Molly McLoughlin, Batesville, “Nightwatch, scratchboard, Shear Magic; Shelley Mitchell, Batesville, “Dusk,” watercolor, The Finishing Touch.
