Robbery attempted in Versailles shop

An attempted robbery at the tattoo shop First Impressions, Versailles, happened May 12 at about 3:30 p.m., according to a Ripley County Sheriff’s Office report.

A white male in his late 20s or 30s approached the victim, First Impressions owner Duran Denny, with a knife, demanding money. Denny refused and chased the suspect from the business. The suspect did not gain anything in the attempt.

The man, who has non-colored tattoos on both forearms, is described as 5 feet, 10 or 11 inches tall with brown hair and a medium build.

Sheriff Tom Grills is investigating the incident and was assisted at the scene by sheriff’s deputies, Indiana State Police and Versailles officers. Citizens are urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 812-689-5555 with any information.
