Cancer survivors dressed in purple shirts participated in the first lap of the 2009 Ripley County Relay for Life at the Batesville High School track June 20. Rodney Mathews, Versailles, sang the National Anthem to begin the festivities.Thirty-nine teams raised $132,000, reported chairperson B.J. Myers. “I’m so proud of Ripley County .... It’s truly a county that gives back .... People are giving from their hearts and because they want to.”
