Several business classes scheduled

A variety of business courses are being offered in this area, according to a Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center, New Albany, e-mail.

Ivy Tech Community College, Madison, is offering these computer classes: Excel Intermediate: Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., $129; Microsoft Office: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Dec. 5, 10, 12 and 17 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., $375. Info: Nacy Bevli, or 812-265-2580, Ext. 4191.

Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center Launching Your own Business Workshops are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays. “This three-hour workshop will step you through the process of starting a business and provide you a guide through the business plan, ... a necessary tool for all business start-ups and existing businesses, specially if the company is looking for a loan of any type. This workshop will include all materials, live instruction and a subscription to a $30 online business plan guide, SmallBizNavigator.

An economic outlook panel will present an analysis of national, state and local economic conditions and take questions from the audience Friday, Nov. 15, in the Indiana University Southeast Hoosier Room, New Albany. After a 7 a.m. breakfast, the program will run from 8-9 a.m. The fee is $25 per person or $175 for a table of eight. To register by Wednesday, Nov. 13: 800-933-9330. An SISBDC hands-on QuickBooks workshop will be held Dec. 2 and Dec. 4 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library. Topics include set-up, lists, bank accounts, sales and payments. The cost of the workshop is $200.

An SISBDC Getting Your Business Online Workshop is slated for Nov. 20 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Heritage Hall, Rising Sun. This free workshop, sponsored by Main Street Rising Sun and geared toward small business owners, is designed to make it easy, free and fast for your business to get online using Google tools.
