The Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children Inc., a membership organization representing more than 2,200 teachers and other professionals who work with or on behalf of children from birth to 8, announced 11 winners of its 2014 Early Care and Education Awards April 4.
Michelle Roberts-Schneider, Brookville, was presented with one of three awards in the Hoosier Educator, Preschool/Early Elementary, category. “This award is presented to an educator whose exemplary practices embody the practical application of Indiana AEYC standards and who shares those methods to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families,” a news release noted.
Roberts-Schneider is the owner and director of All 4 Kids LLC, a family child care home in Brookville. The business is nationally accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is the first nationally accredited program in Franklin County. It is also the first Hoosier child care home to be nationally accredited through NAEYC. All 4 Kids LLC has also completed the process of becoming the first Franklin County Paths to Quality™ Level 4 program. “Michelle is a dedicated woman with vision of high-quality education and care for all children,” the release emphasized.
The Indiana Early Care and Education Awards, which are presented based on Indiana AEYC member nominations, recognize the best in the early childhood profession and are given at the Indiana Early Childhood Conference to those who provide education, early intervention services and resources to all young children. The award is also presented to those who serve and act on behalf of all young children and their families to assure their rights and well-being.
