---- — MainSource Bank leaders generously donated six gently used Dell computers to the Southeastern Indiana YMCA Learning Center Nov. 7. “Computers are such a core, but expensive tool in school these days. The Y staff is very grateful,” said Dawn Denny, YMCA assistant child care director.
“The computers are a great added resource to our child care program. Our school-age students in after school care can use them to get homework done, and our preschool children can be introduced to technology and also play some age-appropriate learning games,” Denny noted.
Of the donation, John Clerkin, MainSource Bank community Reinvestment Act officer, explained, “With technology changing rapidly, we have to update our computers fairly often. In the past, we paid a company to come and remove the aging computers. This year, we decided that since the computers were still in great condition that we would refurbish them and donate them to not-for-profit organizations within the communities we serve.” MainSource Bank has donated 175 computers companywide over the last two years.
“This donation benefits the children, the environment and the whole community,” according to Kathleen Bohman, SIY community outreach coordinator.
