The Batesville Herald-Tribune
---- — October home sales within the Batesville Community School Corp. district were $1.3 million compared to $1.25 million in October 2012, said Jim Dreyer, Countryside Realty broker, who analyzed Southeastern Indiana Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service data. There were 11 homes sold in October compared to eight in October 2012.
Year-to-date sales of 92 homes stand at $14.89 million. The total is $1.2 million or 7.5 percent behind last year’s sales at this point for the same number of homes.
The number of homes listed for sale increased to 67, up two from the end of September. Dreyer pointed out, “That means we have 7.4 months on hand of active listings.”
The average selling price of a Batesville home so far this year is $161,938, lower than the 2012 average of $173,437. He explained, “This does not represent a decline in home values, but rather a shift to the sale of lower-priced homes. Please note the average list price of the nine homes pending sale is $252,472. That is encouraging because that is the highest it has been during the past 14 months.”
