Dillsboro will take part in entrepreneurship initiative

The town of Dillsboro is the first community on board in southern Indiana for the Community Entrepreneurship Initiative, a concerted program offered by the Indiana Small Business Development Center and Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, notes Scott Fortner, Dillsboro. CEI’s goal is to strengthen the local economy by providing capacity-building solutions to Dillsboro, “making us ready, marketable and competitive to attain economic growth,” according to Fortner.

This project is aimed to assist those who are current business owners, those who may be interested in growing an existing business or starting a new one or would like to contribute to the town’s economic growth.

A potluck dinner and forum will kick off the free program Tuesday, July 29, at 6 p.m. at the 50+ Community Center, 12667 Lenover St., Dillsboro. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share and plenty of ideas. Registration forms can be found at the town hall and local businesses. Info: Scott Fortner, 812-432-3243 or sfortner@townofdillsboro.com.

MMH recognized nationally

For the third year in a row, Margaret Mary Health has been named one of the top 100 Great Community Hospitals in the United States (and one of only four hospitals in Indiana) by Becker’s Hospital Review for the quality of care and services provided.

“At Margaret Mary Health, we realize we wouldn’t be a great community hospital if we weren’t part of such a remarkable community. What makes our hospital great are the qualified doctors and support staff who choose to work here, the local businesses and organizations who choose to support us and the patients who trust us with their care year after year,” according to an e-mailed newsletter.
