Green BEAN Delivery adds Batesville-Oldenburg to its route

Leaders at Green BEAN Delivery, an online home delivery service that provides organic produce and natural groceries to its members, have announced that it is expanding services to Batesville-Oldenburg.

“It’s the farmers’ market coming to your doorsteps all year long. Green BEAN Delivery helps local farmers reach their potential,” notes Megan Lawler Custodio of Dittoe Public Relations, Indianapolis. “Over the last four years, Green BEAN has had a great partnership with Doll’s Orchard in Oldenburg. Doll’s is a major partner, providing the company and its members with a delicious variety of apples.”

Riehle’s Popcorn, Sunman, is also among 39 Hoosier producers contributing to the business.

Green BEAN Delivery was founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Matt Ewer and Elizabeth Blessing, who designed the company to make produce and groceries convenient, affordable and accessible to Midwest communities. It is the Midwest’s most extensive network of farmers and artisans with organic and sustainable practices.

Batesville and Oldenburg residents can create accounts and place their orders online by visiting www.greenbeandelivery.com. Deliveries began the week of March 3. During account set-up, customers can select a produce bin size of their choice and delivery frequency (weekly or biweekly) with flexible scheduling options. Perks of membership include no sign-up fees, no commitments, free membership and delivery. Each produce bin is completely customizable and allows the members to add grocery staples, like local dairy, meats, bread and other products to each order.

Members can choose from more than 1,000 products available each week. All are natural and free of additives and preservatives.

Ewer reports, “We focus on improving the health of our urban communities while strengthening sustainable food businesses with both rural and urban roots. We’re thrilled to begin serving Batesville-Oldenburg with the freshest produce and all-natural groceries, while providing an avenue for local artisans and farmers to share their crafts and talents.”

Since inception, Green BEAN Delivery has invested more than $7 million into local food economies throughout the Midwest. The company is now serving more than 15,000 customers in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Columbus, Ind.; Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; Louisville and Lexington, Ky.; and St. Louis. Green BEAN Delivery also operates the Feel Good Farm, an organic vegetable farm in Sheridan.
