Unexpected duties: Once I selected paintings for the House Ways and Means Committee room. Governor Pence had chosen new portraits for his office, which meant new ones had to be selected for this room as well. I certainly didn’t think I would ever be choosing portraits when I became a legislative assistant.
Active on the local political scene: I was elected Ripley County Republican vice chair about a year ago. I had previously served as county party treasurer and still work as a Laughery 3-1 precinct committeeman.
Why county elections are exciting: This election cycle is a great opportunity for our party to articulate a strong message of personal responsibility, government restraint, low taxation and pro-growth policies. I believe that our party is the best vehicle to help individuals achieve their American dreams. We look forward to bringing that message to our community this fall.
Education: 2005 Batesville High School graduate, 2009 Wabash College political science graduate
Memberships: Ripley County Republican Party Central Committee; 6th Congressional District Republican Caucus; Wabash College Scarlet Flag Club, Sons of Wabash and Edmond O. Hovey Society
Favorite pastimes: Old cars, golf, auto racing, piano
Proudest achievement: I’m very proud to have earned the respect and trust of the people of our community and my colleagues in Indianapolis. Serving as vice chairman of the county Republican party, as well as being involved in the governing process is a great challenge, but an important responsibility. As a young man, I do not take lightly the support and trust our community has instilled in me. I am so blessed to be a guardian of the Republic.
