Wednesday, Oct. 9

St. Louis Church is sponsoring a community blood drive Oct. 9, noon-5:30 p.m., Batesville Knights of Columbus hall. Come any time. No appointments taken. Info: Anita Brelage, 934-3095.

St. Anne’s Ladies Sodality card party, Oct. 9, 1-4:30 p.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church, Morris, lower hall.

On Oct. 9, an Utopian Wildlife Program (family program) will be presented, 2 p.m. and Beginning Computer Class Series, 6 p.m., Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library. Info: 812-663-2826.

Registration for Southeastern Indiana YMCA Fall II Session programs continues Oct. 9 for members and begins Oct. 10 for potential members. Programs begin Oct. 14. Info: www.siymca.org or 934-6006.

On Oct. 10, a make and take craft will be in the children’s room while supplies last and a fall break teen program for grades 6-12 – Spoons and Milkshakes! will be presented at 1 p.m., Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library. Info: 812-663-2826.

Batesville Memorial Public Library will host two free presentations by Joan Hostetler of Heritage Photo and Research Services Oct. 10: Researching Your Historic Home or Building, 2 p.m; and Care and Identification of Family Photographs, 6:30 p.m.

The Batesville Middle School PTSO Chili Supper Fundraiser is Oct. 24, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tickets purchased by Oct. 10: adults, $7 and kids under 10, $4; at the door: adults, $8 and kids, $5. Carryouts available. Info: 934-5175.

Tess Gerritsen, internationally-known writer of medical thrillers and suspense novels, will speak Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m., Schilling Center, 900 Mill St., Brookville, sponsored by the Franklin County Public Library District and Tri Kappa.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3183 Ladies’ Auxiliary will meet Oct. 10, 7 p.m.
