Corn Maze Ends

The annual Metamora Corn Maze, located east of the town off of U.S. 52, is open every Saturday and Sunday in October from 1-5 p.m. Admission is $5, or $4 each for groups over 10. Proceeds benefit the Whitewater Canal Trail.

 

Sunday, Oct. 28

Breakfast

The New Alsace Conservation Club is hosting a sausage and pancake breakfast Oct. 28, 7:30 a.m.-noon, New Alsace American Legion. Cost: adults, $8; children under 10, $4; under 3, free.

Breakfast

A Columbus Day Breakfast will be held Oct. 28, 8 a.m.-noon, Batesville Knights of Columbus hall. Freewill offering. Proceeds go to American Legion Baseball Team.

Stillboard/Trap Shoot

Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg, will host a stillboard and trap shoot Oct. 28, 11 a.m.  Prizes: meat and money.

Turkey Dinner

St. John’s, Enochsburg, annual turkey dinner is Oct. 28, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost: adults, $9; children, $4. Raffles, turtle soup.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 30

Haunted History

Attendees can tell ghostly stories and listen to Franklin County  spooky tales and legends Oct. 30,  2:30 p.m.,  Laurel Library.

Library Happenings

The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library will sponsor Jack-O-Lantern Carving for Teens Oct. 30, 6:30 p.m. Info: 812-663-2826.

Support Group

A support group for individuals and/or family members to receive mutual support, education, advocacy and service regarding mental health issues meets the last Tuesday of the month, including Oct. 30, 7-8:30 p.m., Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, OB conference room. Wednesday, Oct. 31

Batesville Toastmasters

Batesville Toastmasters meetings, which are open to the public, will be held every other Wednesday until the end of the year, including Oct. 31, noon-1 p.m., Hillcrest Country Club. Info: Susi Wolfe, 934-3462.

 

Thursday, Nov. 1

Masonic Meeting

Batesville Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge 668 will hold its monthly meeting Nov. 1, 7 p.m.

 

Friday, Nov. 2

Food Giveaway

A Ripley County Food Pantry large food giveaway is Nov. 2, 11 a.m. until the food runs out, Osgood fairgrounds.  Persons in need who live in Laughery, Center, Delaware, Jackson, Johnson and Otter Creek townships are eligible to attend. Also Dec. 7.
