The Friends of the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library will hold its annual fall book sale Oct. 12, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Oct. 13, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Oct. 14, 1-3 p.m., meeting room. An early bird sale for Info: 812-663-2826.

Property Tax Discussion

Purdue University Professor Larry DeBoer will discuss “On Local Government: The 2012 Property Tax” Oct. 15, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This free

program will be delivered via video streaming and can be viewed in the Purdue Extension Franklin County office or a personal computer. RCCF Grant

Applications Due

Applications available at www.rccfonline.org for the next Ripley County Community Foundation small project grant cycle are due Oct. 12. Info: 933-1098.

Historical Society

The Franklin County Historical Society  will meet Oct. 15, 6 p.m. dinner, Goldfinch Restaurant, Brookville. Julie Schlesselman will discuss “Life Through Journals in Franklin County” and election of officers. RSVP for $13 chicken buffet dinner by Oct. 12: Martha Shea, 765-647-5182.

Genealogy Programs

The Franklin County Pioneer Reunion is Oct. 12-13 at the Brookville Library: Friday: 10 a.m., “History of the Pioneer Association’s Old Settlers’ Picnic”; 1  p.m.,  “Nefarious Deeds and Hauntings in Franklin County.” Saturday:  10 a.m., “Where are the Bears?”

BMS Musical

The Batesville Middle School musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie” is Oct. 12-13, 7 p.m., Batesville High School auditorium. Ticket prices, which include desserts and drinks, are $9 for preferred seating and $6 for regular seating. Tickets may be purchased at the BMS office or from Carol Bergman, 934-5175.
