Friday, Feb. 7

The Ripley County Mobile Food Pantry will give away food for the needy in Laughery, Center, Jackson, Johnson and Otter Creek townships Feb. 7, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Ripley County Fairgrounds Building 16C, Osgood.

Feb. 7, noon, is the deadline for candidates to file for candidacy for the May 6 primary. Saturday, Feb. 8

Francis Series – Francis & the Sultan will be presented Feb. 8, 9-11:30 a.m., Oldenburg Franciscan Center. Cost: $20. Info: 933-6437 or center@oldenburgosf.com.

The Margaret Mary Health Safe Sitter class, a babysitting preparation program for 11- to 13-year-olds, is Feb. 8, 9 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., auditorium. The cost to attend is $40. Registration is required: 933-5257.

A chicken dinner will be served Feb. 8, 5-8 p.m., Knights of Columbus Hall. Carryouts available. Proceeds go to the American Legion Baseball Team.

Batesville Community Education Foundation’s Western Night fundraiser is Feb 8, 6:30 p.m. dinner with cash bar, followed by a dance with music by Nuttin’ Fancy, Walhill Farm. Casual Western attire. Tickets are $50 per person or $95 per couple. To RSVP: kpoltrack@batesville.k12.in.us.

Sunday, Feb. 9

The St. Nicholas Ladies Sodality are sponsoring a valentine breakfast Feb. 9, 7:30 a.m.-noon, St. Nicholas Church, Sunman. Freewill offering.

The Hamburg Knights of St. John will have a stillboard and trap shoot Feb. 9, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg.
