Wednesday, Jan. 22

Batesville Toastmasters will meet Jan. 22, 5:30 p.m., Community Church of Batesville, 103 E. George St. Info: 934-3462.

A mandatory meeting for all students participating in Batesville High School’s spring driver education program and their parents is Jan. 22, 7 p.m., BHS cafeteria.

Thursday, Jan. 23

The St. Louis Catholic Preschool Open House is Jan. 23. Parents interested in the two day a week program for 3- to 4-year-olds can visit 5-6 p.m. Those interested in the three day a week program for pre-K can visit 6-7 p.m. Info: 932-1731.

The Batesville Lions Club will meet Jan. 23, Sherman House. Dinner, 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Dr. Tim Putnam, Margaret Mary Health president. RSVP: Ted Hartshorn, 934-2636.

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner & Awards Banquet is Jan. 30, Knights of Columbus Hall. Doors open, 5:30 p.m.; Dinner, 6:30 p.m. followed by award presentations. Cost: $35. RSVP by Jan. 23: 934-3101 or chamber@batesvillein.com.

Holy Family Catholic Church will have a turtle soup sale Jan. 23-25, Village Store, Oldenburg; and in church Jan. 25 after 5:30 p.m. Mass and Jan. 26 after 8 a.m. Mass (if still available). All proceeds go to Religious education programs.

Saturday, Jan. 25

A blood drive, sponsored by Hoxworth Blood Center, will be held Jan. 25, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Sunman American Legion hall. Info or to schedule appointment: Roger Lang, 812-623-3685 or www.hoxworth.org/groups/sunman. Walk-ins welcome.

The Knights of Columbus Council 1461 Free Throw Contest is Jan. 25, 11 a.m., St. Louis Activity Center. Entry forms are available at area schools.
