“Year end is Coming – are you Ready?” is the theme of a Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Lunch & Learn session by certified public accountants Shawwn Storms and Brad Feldman Dec. 3, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Big Four Café. Thursday, Nov. 28

The Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, sponsored by Southeastern Indiana YMCA, begins there Nov. 28, 8 a.m. The cost is $12 if preregistered by Nov. 25 or $15 after that date. Info: Angela Hurley, 934-6006, Ext. 254.

Friday, Nov. 29

A Friends of Versailles State Park Walk Off the Gravy Hike is Nov. 29, 9 a.m., campground overflow parking lot. Info: Ripley County Tourism Bureau, 812-689-7431.

The Moving On Band will perform Nov. 29, 8 p.m.-midnight, Batesville Eagles, 104 W. Pearl St. Info: 934-3610.

Nominations for four Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce awards are due Nov. 29. Forms are available at www.batesvillein.com, then click on Community, Event Apps and 2014 Nomination Forms. They also can be picked up at the offices of The Herald-Tribune and WRBI.

The Batesville Area Historical Society Snowflake Luncheon is Dec. 4, 11 a.m. doors open, noon lunch, Hillcrest Country Club. The cost is $25 per person. The benefit will raise funds for the society’s museum, 15 W. George St. To reserve a seat or table of eight by Nov. 29: Jinny Stewart, 933-0267. Tickets are also available at the museum and Geis Electronics.
