Library Happenings

The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library will sponsor Make a Fashion Scarf for grades 4-6, Jan. 28, 5 p.m. Info: 812-663-2826.

Friends of VSP

The Friends of Versailles State Park will meet Jan. 28, 5 p.m., Crossroads Restaurant, Versailles. The public group will discuss annual events and memberships will be accepted. To RSVP: 812-689-7431.

Safe Servers Class

An Indiana Alcohol Seller/Server  Certification course will be held Jan. 28, 6 p.m., Lefty’s Pub. Cost: $15. Bring valid photo ID.

Tuesday, Jan. 29

BHS-Ivy Tech Meeting

A meeting for parents and students who will be Batesville High School juniors and seniors during the 2013-14 school year is Jan. 29, 6 p.m., BHS auditorium. They will learn about BHS-Ivy Tech dual credit and dual enrollment courses, transferability and other information that will be used in scheduling. Info: Matt Maple, 934-4384.  

Wednesday, Jan. 30

Potato Bar

St. Louis eighth-graders will host a freewill offering baked potato bar Jan. 30, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the school. All proceeds will go to the class’ charity of choice.

Underage Substance Abuse Survey

The Coalition for a Drug-Free Batesville Survey on Underage Substance Abuse should be taken by parents by Jan. 31. The 15-question survey can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R7QSJB6.

Friday, Feb. 1

Food Giveaway

A Ripley County Food Pantry large food giveaway is Feb. 1, 11 a.m. until the food runs out, Osgood fairgrounds. Persons in need who live in Laughery, Center, Jackson, Johnson and Otter Creek townships are eligible.

Beautification League

Batesville Beautification League  meets the first Friday of the month, including Feb. 1, noon, Sherman House. New members welcome. Info: Judy Schath, 934-3234.

Spaghetti Supper

The Batesville High School Jazz Band Spaghetti Supper is Feb. 1, 4:30-7 p.m., BHS cafeteria. Cost: adults, $7; children 10 and under, $4. Take outs available.

Fish Dinner

St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ, Blue Creek, will host a fish dinner Feb. 1, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Freewill offering. Carryouts available.

OFC Program

Film, Faith and Franciscanism: Finding Joe will be presented Feb. 1, 6:30-9 p.m., Oldenburg Franciscan Center. Freewill offering. Info: 933-6437 or center@oldenburgosf.com.
