Friday, Aug. 30

The fourth annual Finding Improvement by Reaching Empowerment concert is Aug. 30, 3-10 p.m., Liberty Park. Music, bouncy house, carnival games, food.

Sunday, Sept. 1

St. John’s, Enochsburg, church picnic is Sept. 1. Chicken and roast beef dinners served beginning at 11 a.m. Games, beer garden, raffles, silent auction.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

A blood drive will be held Sept. 3, 1-6:30 p.m., Sunman American Legion hall. Info or to schedule an appointment: www.hoxworth.org/groups/sunman or Roger Lang, 812-623-3685.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

The Columbus Star Quilters’ Guild will meet Sept. 4, 9:30 a.m., masonic lodge, 4131 Rocky Ford Road. Xenia Cord will present “Enrolled upon the Bed: American Name-Inscribed Quilts.”

La Leche League of Sunman, a breast-feeding support group, will meet Sept. 4, 5-6 p.m., Dr. Suzanne Martini’s office, Sunman. Info: 812-654-2593.
